Please help us celebrate the Legacy of Love that Cookie has left behind by helping those animals not as fortunate as your own pets.
There are many ways to help. Adopt a stray from the street or the local shelter. Don't turn your back on older or handicapped animals either. They can bring you more joy than you could ever imagine. Volunteer at your local shelter, join the feral rescue team in your town, donate food, blankets, toys and cash to the shelters, write to your congressmen, senators and representatives of your state and urge them to pass laws that will help animals and severely punish animal abusers. If you see animal abuse happen, don't be afraid to get involved. Animals can't speak for themselves, so you must be their voice.
Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution....SPAY and NEUTER your animals! Please remember that animals need our help and deserve our love. Spaying and neutering can help put an end to the terrible overpopulation problem. Try to keep cats exclusively indoors protected from all the dangers that await outside. Keep dogs safely on a leash or in an escape-proof fenced yard. Remember, their safety and well-being is in YOUR hands.
